Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku on Wednesday led a government development delegation to Kianganja Comprehensive School in Muminji, Embu County, where he delivered resources to complete the construction of four classrooms.

Ruku said the government is committed to improving education infrastructure nationwide, noting that 23,000 classrooms have already been constructed to support the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

He added that 76,000 teachers have been employed in the last three years, with plans to recruit 24,000 more to fulfill President William Ruto’s pledge of employing 100,000 teachers in his first term.

The visit comes just days before the Mbeere North by-election, where Muminji forms a key battleground.

The ward is home to Democratic Party (DP) candidate Newton Karish, one of the aspirants eyeing the parliamentary seat.

Ruku emphasized that government projects are aimed at uplifting communities across the country, urging residents to take full advantage of the improved facilities to advance education in the region.
