The internet has been full of celebrity breakups and social media celebrities’ breakup stories recently, so much that the question of whether or not modern relationships are stable is being asked. Media personality Baba Talisha has offered a pleasant peek into what really keeps a marriage alive.
In an online letter, Faustine admitted that the wave of public breakups scares couples who want to build strong relationships. But he insisted that the secret to a lasting relationship isn’t expensive dates and dramatic social media posts, but forgiveness, communication, patience, and the daily choice to be there for each other even when it’s hard.
“Among the relationship peace secrets is to keep our expectations low and appreciation high. When you stop expecting perfection and can accept the real person next to you, love becomes lighter and more authentic,” he penned.
Faustine noted that most celebrity marriages tend to collapse under the pressure of celebrity status, tight schedules, temptations, and constant intrusion of privacy.
Instead of fearing marriage, he encouraged men and women to build relationships that would last: “May we love passionately, forgive quickly, and expect less. Healthy marriages still happenthey just take two people willing to water the bond daily.”
