Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry Lee Kinyanjui has appointed his 2022 gubernatorial running mate, Joyce Kiprop Cheruiyot, to the board of the Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA).
According to Gazette Notice No. 11215, Cheruiyot will serve as a member of the authority for a three-year term effective August 15, 2025.
The appointment was made under Section 12(1)(f) of the Special Economic Zones Act, which empowers the Cabinet Secretary to name members of the authority.
“IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 12 (1) (f) of the Special Economic Zones Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry appoints- Joyce Kiprop Cheruiyot to be a Member of the Special Economic Zones Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 15th August, 2025,” read the gazette notice.
SEZA is mandated to promote, facilitate and oversee the development of special economic zones in Kenya as part of efforts to attract investment, boost exports and create jobs.
