A section of womenleaders under Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organization, has accused Kericho County Assembly Speaker Patrick Mutai of intimidating nominated Members of the County Assembly ahead of the planned impeachment motion debate of Governor Erick Mutai set for Friday.
Led by Kericho County Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organization Branch Secretary Sarah Turgut, the women, accompanied by a section of youths claimed there are plans to block some women nominated MCAs from accessing the assembly chambers during the impeachment proceedings.
The accusations come a week after Speaker Mutai ordered five MCAs, including two nominated women representatives, to show cause for allegedly missing eight consecutive sittings, a directive issued before the impeachment motion was tabled.
