Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary of Kenya, on Sunday arrived in Vienna to participate in the 68th Regular Session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), running from September 16th to 20th.
In his statement, Mudavadi emphasized Kenya’s unwavering support for the IAEA’s statutory objectives.
He highlighted the country’s commitment to promoting the peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology, enhancing nuclear safety and security, and strengthening global nuclear verification and non-proliferation efforts.
“Kenya remains steadfast in supporting the IAEA’s mission to advance sustainable development through the peaceful use of nuclear science and technology. We are dedicated to enhancing nuclear safety and security, as well as reinforcing global efforts towards nuclear non-proliferation,” Mudavadi stated.

Kenya has been a member state of the IAEA since 1965 and is currently serving on the IAEA Board of Governors for the 2022-2024 term.
Mudavadi’s participation underscores Kenya’s ongoing role in the international community’s efforts to manage and regulate nuclear activities responsibly.
The conference, which brings together delegates from member states around the world, provides a platform for discussing key issues related to nuclear energy, safety, and technology.
