The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has asked members of the public to participate in a new survey aimed at improving its Total Cost of Credit (TCC) website.

The tool is designed to help borrowers compare loan costs across different financial institutions.

In a statement issued by the bank, CBK raised concern that despite launching the Total Cost of Credit (TCC) Website in June 2017, the goal has yet to be fully realised.

The Total Cost of Credit website was launched in partnership with the Kenya Bankers Association.

It was developed to promote transparency in the loaning market and help users understand the full cost of loans before borrowing.

The fact that the platform has been widely used by individuals and small businesses, CBK argues that it now needs to be updated to align changes in the financial landscape.

The survey seeks to gather public views on the site’s user experience, show areas for improvement, and strengthen its role in promoting financial literacy and informed borrowing.

CBK is calling on customers of banks, microfinance institutions, and mortgage finance companies as well as the general public, to share their feedback by filling out the online survey before July 15, 2025.

The form is available via the TCC website or directly through this link: https://forms.office.com/r/d8FNWvt5e5.

Anyone facing difficulties accessing the survey can reach out to CBK via email at fin@centralbank.go.ke.
