Matheus Cunha’s transfer to Manchester United is nearing completion, with the Wolves forward set for a £62.5 million move to Old Trafford.

According to BBC Sport, United will pay the full fee in three instalments over two years, with £20.8 million due upfront, another instalment at the end of next season, and the final payment scheduled for summer 2027.

Though Wolves are yet to receive a formal bid, one is expected soon. As the fee matches Cunha’s release clause, negotiations between the clubs are likely to be minimal.

Personal terms between United and the Brazil international are close to being finalized, with sources describing the agreement as a formality.

Cunha, 25, has scored 33 goals in 92 appearances for Wolves since joining from Atletico Madrid in January 2023.

After playing in Wolves’ final match of the season—a 1-1 draw with Brentford—he appeared to bid farewell to fans on social media.

“Individually, it was the best season of my life,” he wrote. “I became the Brazilian with the most goals in a Premier League season, alongside Firmino and Martinelli. I gave everything for this club.”

The move would mark United’s first major signing of the summer as they begin restructuring ahead of the 2025–26 season.
