Slain blogger and teacher Albert Ojwang has been laid to rest. Ojwang was laid to rest at his father home in Kakoth-Kokwanyo village in Homa Bay County.
His funeral was attended by a multitude of people who converged at his home to pay the late teacher his final respects.
Speaking during the burial, ODM National Chairperson Gladys Wanga said they will not rest until those culpable are held to account.
Ojwang died from what an autopsy revealed was blunt force trauma and neck compression while in police custody. Weeks after the death Albert Omondi Ojwang in police custody, in a case that has drawn national condemnation and outcry over rising cases of abduction and extrajudicial killings ,family ,friends ,politicians and Kenyans in general converged in Kakoth-Kokwanyo village in Homa Bay County to pay the slain teacher Albert Ojwang his last respects.
The emotionally charged crowd renewing calls for accountability for the late Teacher and digital activist and all other Kenyans who have died in the hands of police. During the burial ODM leaders stood in solidarity with the grieving family.
Wanga also called on Kenyans to remain peaceful and united despite the difficult political climate, and urged the National Police Service to exercise restraint when dealing with civilians.
The leaders urged police in the country to exercise restraint when dealing with civilians and bring to end extra-judicial killings.
Ojwang died on the 7th June at the central police station in Nairobi after being arrested by security officers at his father’s home Kakoth- Kokwanyo village,Homa Bay County.
