The Social Health Authority (SHA) has asked Kenyans to ignore a fake job advert doing rounds on social media, saying it is a scam designed to con desperate job seekers.
In a statement today on Friday, SHA made it clear that it is not hiring and had not advertised any vacancies.
The authority reminded Kenyans to be cautious and only rely on official government platforms for job updates.
The fake poster, which has been widely shared on WhatsApp and Facebook, looked convincing complete with SHA colours and a government seal.
It listed more than 14 job titles, including HR officers, cooks, cleaners, drivers, and ICT staff.
The notice even claimed that most of the jobs were permanent and pensionable, targeting hopeful applicants with promises of job security.
Applicants were told to apply by July 7 and to submit personal details such as their ID, KRA PIN, NSSF number, and SHA credentials information that scammers could easily use for identity theft or fraud.
“This is false and misleading, we urge the public not to fall victim to such schemes,” SHA said.
With unemployment still a major concern, these scams continue to take advantage of people searching for better opportunities.
SHA is now urging Kenyans to stay alert and report any suspicious job notices.
“Always verify job adverts through our official communication channels,” the authority advised.
