Kenyans have been left stunned after it emerged that Blogger Ndiagui Kinyagia who was thought to have been abducted revealed that he has been hiding all along. The blogger’s revelation sparked outrage from the pubolic including popular activist Boniface Mwangi who called him out stating that his behaviors are deceptive and criminal.
In a post, Boniface expressed his disappointment stating that, “An entire country was fighting for his release and praying for his safety thinking he was abducted, but all this timestatin he was in hiding! Shame on him and his family for misleading an entire nation.”
Kinyagia’s disappearance shocked the nation and there was concern over his safety. There were hashtags all over the internet demanding his release circulated online and many advocacy groups raised alarms over his disappearance.
Activist Boniface did not mince his words, he labeled Kinyagia’s act a deliberate attempt to manipulate public emotions. “What Ndiangui Kinyagia has done is wrong, and criminal,” he wrote, adding, “Kasongo Yeye!”—a Swahili phrase used to ridicule someone as a deceiver.
Many feel betrayed, having dedicated time, energy, and resources to campaigns and prayers that were founded on falsehood.
