Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki is Mt Kenya’s preferred kingpin, as per the latest survey conducted by Politrack Africa.
According to the findings of the study conducted between September 9 and 10, 69.1% of the respondents preferred Kindiki to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who was supported by only 24.9% of the sample.
Interestingly, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru was preferred by 6.9% of the respondents.
Further, 79% of the respondents said they support Mt Kenya East leaders’ decision to back Kindiki as their link to the Executive.
Those who support the Interior boss argue he is the best suited to address pertinent issues facing the Mt Kenya region, such as alcoholism, unemployment, corruption, cash crop returns, and infrastructure.
Gachagua has been presenting himself as the leader of the region but his influence could be dwindling if this survey is anything to go by.
