Babu Owino, the MP for Embakasi East, has issued strong solidarity endorsement of the Gen Z youth leading the ongoing anti-government demonstrations in Kenya and urged them not to give up but continue the fight for justice.
In a Tuesday video message Babu called on the youth to “fight on, soldier on,” in calling for solidarity and determination in the face of adversity. “It is not over until it’s over,” he continued to aver.
The demonstrations, which began after protests against the Finance Bill 2025 and broader discontent with governance, corruption, and joblessness, have seen youth demonstrate on the streets of major cities some of the demonstrations having taken a deadly turn.
Babu called for a national day of commemoration for activists who’ve lost their lives. “Be there, be seen, remember your dead soldiers,” he urged.
Standing apart from politicians for his unyielding position, Babu vowed the youth his full support. “On a scale of 0 to 10, I’m with you at 11 standing with you 101%,” he stated.
