Kenyans were forced to walk to the Nairobi CBD on Wednesday after police blocked public service vehicles from accessing the city centre.

All major roads leading into the city were blocked for both public and private cars with workers from Eastlands forced to walk from City Stadium to the CBD.

Most businesses remained closed, and only a few people were seen walking around.

As early as yesterday, June 24, businesses had started clearing their stocks from the store as a cautionary measure.

Anti-riot police camped at key roads leading to the State House, Nairobi, as the country marked the anniversary of the June 25 protests.
