Kamukunji Member of Parliament Hon. Yusuf Hassan today presided over a successful bursary issuance ceremony where the Kamukunji NG CDF Committee disbursed KSh 71.5 million to support a record 10,600 students in the constituency.

Hon. Hassan emphasized that education is the greatest equaliser, providing children from low-income families with the opportunity to rise, learn, and achieve their full potential. “I strongly believe education offers children from disadvantaged backgrounds a head start in life. It empowers them to dream big, aim high, and unlock a future full of possibilities,” he said.

Under Hon. Hassan’s leadership, Kamukunji Constituency has made remarkable strides in educational support. To date, the NG CDF bursary program has benefited 42,571 secondary school students, 18,748 university students, and 3,349 youth enrolled in professional and life skills training programs.

In total, 64,668 students have been supported, with bursaries amounting to an impressive KSh 465 million.Hon. Hassan proudly noted that many of these beneficiaries have gone on to excel in diverse professions, becoming doctors, nurses, engineers, teachers, lawyers, journalists, accountants, IT specialists, chefs, hotel managers, entrepreneurs, and respected professionals across various sectors.“This investment in education is one of the most fulfilling achievements of my leadership. It is not just about funding, it is about building futures, uplifting families, and transforming entire communities,” he stated.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to expanding access to quality education and ensuring that no child in Kamukunji is left behind due to financial hardship. Through the continued allocation of CDF bursaries, the Kamukunji NG CDF remains steadfast in supporting learners from primary to tertiary levels, equipping them with the tools to succeed.

His focus on education has become a cornerstone of his development agenda, leaving a lasting legacy that will continue to shape Kamukunji for generations to come.
