In a significant step towards digitizing Kenya’s judicial system, Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy William Kabogo, alongside Chief Justice Martha Koome, will officially unveil a KSh 250 million Local Area Network (LAN) project in Msambweni, Kwale County, on Friday.
The ambitious project is spearheaded by the Ministry of ICT in collaboration with the Judiciary.
The project aims to enhance digital connectivity in the justice sector by linking 42 law courts across the country through a high-speed, secure LAN infrastructure.
According to the Ministry, the initiative will modernize court operations, improve service delivery, and reduce case backlogs by embracing technology-driven processes.
The Msambweni launch will serve as a flagship event to demonstrate the impact of digital infrastructure in public service delivery.
The rollout is expected to enable e-filing, virtual court sessions, and internal communication within the Judiciary, making it easier for judicial officers and court users to interact seamlessly across distances.
“This project marks a new chapter in ensuring that justice is accessible, efficient, and transparent,” said CS Kabogo ahead of the launch.
