President William Ruto has once again emphasized the importance of unity in the country, urging Kenyans to come together for the common good.

Speaking during a visit to Kisumu, where he was warmly welcomed by residents and traders, the President highlighted the need for collective efforts to drive the nation’s progress.

Ruto expressed his gratitude for the warm reception, stating, “What unites us is greater than what divides us. Let us combine efforts and take Kenya to the next level.”

The President’s visit to Kisumu is part of a broader initiative to engage with communities across the country, fostering dialogue and cooperation among citizens.

This is the first visit to Kisumu after he recently integrated the opposition leaders in his government.

He recently appointed John Mbadi who was appointed National Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Opiyo Wandayi (Energy and Petroleum), Hassan Joho (Mining and Blue Economy) and Wycliffe Oparanya (MSME Development) into his Kenya Kwanza government.

Ruto emphasized his commitment to forging a united country and urged the people of Nyanza to join his agenda.

“We are one people, a family, and I want you to join me in building a united country,” he said.

Ruto also expressed gratitude to ODM party leader Raila Odinga for supporting his efforts to form a broad-based government.

“I had helped Baba (Raila) before, and there is nothing wrong if he helps me steer the government,” Ruto stated.

In addition to his call for unity, Ruto also took the opportunity to interact with local traders, acknowledging their contributions to the economy.

He assured them of the government’s support in creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, further strengthening the economic fabric of the region.
