Renowned Ugandan DJ and media pioneer Michael Benjamin Owor, popularly known as DJ Bush Baby, has been found dead in his studio in Entebbe.
His body was discovered on Thursday, June 5, after family members broke into the premises, alarmed by his sudden disappearance and failure to respond to calls since Tuesday.
The cause of death remains unknown pending a postmortem. Police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death.
DJ Bush Baby, 50, was a celebrated figure in East Africa’s media and music industry, known for his work with Radio Uganda, EATV, Sanyu FM, Urban TV, and most recently, XRadio in Tanzania. He also founded Salute the DJ, a mentorship platform for young Ugandan DJs.
Tributes continue to pour in on social media from fans, artists, and colleagues. Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
