Elphas Shalakha, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate in the West Kabras Ward MCA seat by-election has emerged the victor.
Shalakha garnered 3,381votes, beating his close competitor Bramwel Wasike Khaemba, who vied on the Democracy for the Citizens Party, amassing 2,592 votes.
The seat fell vacant following the resignation and subsequent election of David Athman Ndakwa as Malava Member of Parliament.
Shalakha’s win, the President William Ruto-led party said, reaffirms the people’s confidence in the party’s agenda of transformation and inclusive development.
