The ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has announced the nomination dates and charged fees for those seeking its ticket in the upcoming by-elections.
In a statement, the President William Ruto-led outfit announced that the nominations will be held on September 20.
Candidates vying for the seats declared vacant and want a UDA ticket have been asked to register beginning today, August 14, with the registration deadline set on September 5.
Interested candidates will pay nomination fees as follows:
Male candidates seeking MCA seats are required to part with KSh 50,000 with female youth and people with disabilities (PWDs) paying a lower KSh 25,000 each.
Male aspirants seeking the vacant MP seats will pay a KSh 250,000 nomination fee, with female, youth and PWDs paying a lower KSh 125,000 each.
The male candidates seeking the vacant senate seat are required to part with KSh 250, 000 with youth, female and PWDs paying KSh 125, 000.
All payments should be made either via MPESA, Paybill number 888092, Account Number: Aspirant’s ID Number or via Equity Bank, Name: United Democratic Alliance, Account No: 0810280788414, Branch: Supreme Center
The declared vacancies are:
a) Members of the National Assembly for Banissa Constituency, Kasipul Constituency, Magarini Constituency, Malava Constituency, Mbere North Constituency and Ugunja Constituency.
b) Member of the Senate for Baringo County.
c) Members of the County Assembly for Angata Nanyokie Ward in Samburu County, Chemundu/Kapng’etuny Ward in Nandi County, Chewani Ward in Tana River County, Fafi Ward in Garissa County, Kariobangi North Ward in Nairobi City County, Kisa East Ward in Kakamega County, Kabuchai/Chwele Ward in Bungoma County, Metkei Ward in Elgeyo Marakwet County, Mumbuni North Ward in Machakos County, Narok Town Ward in Narok County, Purko Ward in Kajiado County, Tembelio Ward in Uasin Gishu County, Nyansiongo Ward in Nyamira County, Nyamaiya Ward in Nyamira County, Ekerenyo Ward in Nyamira County, Lake Zone Ward in Turkana County and Nanaam Ward in Turkana County.
