A joint operation led by the DCI Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) team, supported by GSU Kipsing officers, successfully recovered two AK-47 rifles with empty magazines earlier today at Lemorijo village, Lengurma Location, Isiolo North Sub-County.
The operation followed the fatal attack on April 7, 2025, in which three National Police Reservists (NPR) from Igembe North, Meru County, were shot dead by armed raiders. The recovered rifles are believed to have been used during the assault.
Authorities credited the breakthrough to close collaboration between elite security teams, members of the public, the local administration, and DCI Igembe North officers, who have now taken over investigations. The case remains under active probe.
The Ministry of Interior commended all officers involved for their dedication and ongoing efforts to uphold law and order. Further updates will be provided as investigations continue.
