President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto, has denied claims that her father has appointed her to a plum government job.
Reports went viral on social media that Charlene had been appointed the chairperson of the National Mining Corporation for three years.
Taking to X, Charlene termed the reports as fake, saying President Ruto believes in giving equal, fair and transparent leadership opportunities, so he would not make such an appointment.
"Guys...c'mon...seriously?? Tuwache fake news! And looks like whoever is pushing this doesn't know President William Ruto. He believes in giving equal, fair and transparent leadership opportunities to as many Kenyans as possible, so trust me, this he would not do," said Charlene.
The first daughter added that she is not waiting for anyone to give her an appointment or a position as she is creating her path.
Previously, the Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs debunked the claim, saying Joseph Kipchumba Lagat is the one who was appointed to the said position.
