The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has reminded teachers under the Public Service Superannuation Fund (PSSF) to update their pension and beneficiary details.
The commission said keeping the information up to date will help ensure teachers have accurate retirement records and make it easier to access their pension information.
The reminder comes as TSC and PSSF mark the countdown to World Teachers’ Day 2026.
Teachers have been asked to register on the PSSF Member Self-Service Portal, where they can check their pension statements and other details linked to their accounts.
“To access your Pension statements and other information about your PSSF account, please create your digital access by signing up on the PSSF Member Self-Service Portal. Then use the same credentials to sign in,” TSC said.
Apart from registering on the portal, teachers have been asked to review and update the details of their nominated beneficiaries.
For children listed as beneficiaries, members are required to provide their birth certificate numbers.
Adult beneficiaries, on the other hand, should have their identification and telephone details provided.
Teachers are also required to indicate how their pension benefits should be shared among the beneficiaries they have nominated.
Those with minor beneficiaries must also provide details of a guardian who can act as a contact person for expenses paid by the PSSF Trust Fund.
The latest reminder follows a directive issued by TSC in July requiring all teachers enrolled in the pension scheme to register on the Member Self-Service Portal.
The move followed the transition to a fully digital pension management system.
In a circular dated July 9, TSC directed regional, county and sub-county directors to ensure that teachers under their areas were informed about the registration requirement.
At the time, the commission said about 334,442 teachers were members of the PSSF.
However, only about 20,000 teachers had updated their details on the portal.
TSC had warned that teachers who failed to register would not be able to monitor their pension savings through the system, and this could also affect the processing of their pension benefits when they leave service.
Through the portal, teachers can update their personal and contact details, view pension statements and contribution records, monitor their accounts and submit pension-related requests online.
They can also receive notifications from the pension fund through the platform.
