The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has opened 24,000 internship positions for Junior Secondary School teachers as part of its efforts to support the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
In a notice released on Tuesday, TSC said the year-long internship program aims to give unemployed but registered teachers hands-on experience. Interns will receive mentorship, coaching, and real classroom exposure to help build their skills.
Teachers who join the program will get a monthly stipend of Ksh. 20,000, although this amount will be subject to standard deductions like tax.
Applications open Tuesday, August 26, and will close on Monday, September 9 at midnight. TSC emphasized that all applications must be submitted online through their official websites: www.tsc.go.ke or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke. Manual applications will not be accepted.
The commission also warned jobseekers to be wary of fraudsters claiming they can help people get recruited in exchange for money.
“Any suspicious activity should be reported to the nearest TSC office, police station, or the Commission’s headquarters,” the notice stated.
