Several senior government officials and political leaders have arrived at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) for the funeral service of the late former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.
Among those in attendance are Cabinet Secretaries Aden Duale (Health), Opiyo Wandayi (Energy), Wycliffe Oparanya (Cooperatives and SMEs), Hassan Joho (Mining), Davis Chirchir (Infrastructure), Rebecca Miano (Tourism), Kipchumba Murkomen (Interior), and Soipan Tuya (Defence).
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and his Senate counterpart, Amason Kingi, are also present, alongside National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah and Minority Leader Junet Mohamed.
Senators Edwin Sifuna (Nairobi) and Prof. Tom Ojienda (Kisumu) are among the lawmakers attending the solemn ceremony.
Head of Public Service Felix Koskei and former Chief Justice David Maraga have also joined mourners at the venue, together with governors Fernandes Barasa (Kakamega), Kenneth Lusaka (Bungoma), and Kisumu Deputy Governor Mathews Owili.
Senior officials from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party and other leaders from across the political divide have gathered to pay their last respects to the veteran statesman, who passed away last week in India.
