Once known for flaunting a glamorous lifestyle in Germany, TikToker Nyako is now opening up about her struggles and seeking help to support herself.
Nyako who was feted as the Best Content Creator Award in Nyanza in 2024 revealed to her followers that she is currently working as a butcher to make ends meet.
“I’m working as a butcher now. I asked for rent assistance, and you saw me as useless, so I went and got a job,” she shared in a recent video.
Her candid admission has sparked a mix of reactions online. Some fans are applauding her for taking responsibility and finding work, while others criticize her for previously showing off a lavish lifestyle on social media.
During the height of her fame, Nyako shared videos of herself living luxuriously in Germany, cooking elaborate meals and enjoying a comfortable life.
However, her fortunes began to change when a fellow Kenyan reported her to German authorities for allegedly living in government-subsidized housing despite appearing financially stable. This led to her eviction and set off a chain of events that left her in a difficult financial position.
In a recent TikTok live stream, Nyako reached out to her fans for help with paying her rent.
Days Nyako lived lavishly.
“Please help me pay rent. I’ve been off TikTok for a few months, but I’m back. I need gifts because I’ve decided to provide for myself. I don’t want money from the German government,” she said.
She also revealed her current struggles: “Since morning, I’ve only had tea. I just left work and I’m starving. I don’t have my own home yet, so I’m staying with a friend who barely cooks. Until I move into my own place, I have to rely on fast food.”
