Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket has launched a scathing attack on critics of President William Ruto, dismissing them as “lazy bones in bed” incapable of challenging his leadership.

Kamket vowed unwavering support for Ruto’s re-election in 2027, asserting that loyal leaders would do whatever it takes to secure his victory.

Speaking on Monday in Kilgoris during an event attended by President Ruto, Kamket declared that critics of the administration have no chance of dethroning the President.

“These people can do nothing. You are the President, and you are not going anywhere because there is nothing they can do,” Kamket said.

Kamket hinted that if the opposition persists with its rhetoric, pro-Ruto leaders might push to extend his tenure beyond 2027 should he defend his seat.

His remarks are expected to fuel political tensions as the country gears up for future elections.

Kamket’s comments come amid growing discontent with the Ruto administration, particularly over allegations of state-sanctioned abductions targeting government critics.

On December 26, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja denied any police involvement in the alleged abductions. However, President Ruto’s subsequent pledge to end such incidents has sparked further debate.

The abductions have led to widespread protests, with Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah on Monday leading demonstrators in Nairobi demanding the release of six individuals reportedly abducted.
