Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the burning of Magunas Supermarket’s Meru branch during the Saba Saba Day protests, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
In a statement, the DCI said the arrests followed a coordinated operation by Meru law enforcement officers on July 7.

The suspects — Ian Mugambi, Abdulatif Murithi, and Teddy Kaimenyi — were reportedly captured on CCTV looting and setting fire to Magunas Supermarket.
They were also seen breaking into and stealing from Seven Eleven Lounge and Selelite Supermarket.

Police recovered a dark green motorcycle, registration number KMGN 839F, believed to have been used in the crimes.
The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing processing ahead of their arraignment. Authorities say efforts to apprehend more individuals involved in the attacks are ongoing.
