President William Ruto has launched infrastructure and development projects in Eldama Ravine and Kabarnet aimed at improving public services, supporting businesses and creating economic opportunities in Baringo County.

According to Principal Secretary for ICT and Digital Economy John Tanui, the President launched the Timboroa–Seguton–Moringwo–Poror–Magrib–Sirwa–Lawina Ochi road at Poror in Eldama Ravine.

The President also flagged off last-mile electricity connectivity, commissioned Kenya Medical Training College classrooms, laid the foundation stone for its administration block and opened a Huduma Centre.

In Kabarnet, Ruto inspected Kabarnet Stadium and the town’s Affordable Housing project before laying the foundation stone for Kabarnet University College. He also issued the Women Enterprise Fund county cheque to support women entrepreneurs.

Tanui said the projects would strengthen transport, expand access to electricity, improve education and facilitate access to government services.

The developments complement planned investments in Special Economic Zones, County Aggregation and Industrial Parks, Nyayo Tea Zones and an upcoming Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation centre in Koibatek.

According to Tanui, the investments could position Baringo as a centre for industrial growth, agricultural transformation and academic excellence.

He added that improved infrastructure and digital connectivity would help residents access markets, employers and essential services, supporting job creation, innovation and sustainable economic growth across the county.
