Kenya’s flagship sports facility, Talanta Stadium, has reached a critical stage in its construction, with the newly planted Bermuda grass beginning to grow across the playing surface.
The development signals the completion of a 60,000 seater facility edging the closer to completion ahead of AFCON 2027 tournament. Sports Kenya announced they had conducted an inspection of the ground and said the Bermuda grass is progressing well.
Bermuda grass is widely used in elite football stadiums around the world due to its quick recovery rate, durability and suitability for the climate. The Talanta Stadium has been designed with a three -tier seating bowl and a translucent canopy roof nearing completion, offering shade and weather protection.
It has VIP and VVIP premium seating with hospitality suites. The stadium’s progress is Kenya’s ambition to elevate its sporting profile. Government officials have stated is 80% complete, with a few finishing remaining.
The stadium is expected to host the AFCON 2027 and other sporting events in the future. Talanta Stadium is a national symbol of pride and readiness, delivering a world class venue for Kenya and Africa.
