The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party led by President William Ruto has swept all seats in the Thursday, February 26, by-elections held in Embu, Kakamega and Isiolo.
In the Isiolo South parliamentary seat by-election, UDA candidate Tubi Mohamed Tubi garnered 7,317 votes to be declared the winner, beating his sister Bina Tubi, who vied on the Jubilee Party and garnered 833 votes.
In Kakamega, Elphas Shalakha of UDA won the West Kabras Ward MCA seat after garnering 3,381votes, beating his close competitor Bramwel Wasike Khaemba, who vied on the Democracy for the Citizens Party, amassing 2,592 votes.
In Embu, two UDA candidates, Duncan Muratia Nyaga and Peterson Njeru Njiru, won the Evurore Ward and Muminji Ward MCA seats, respectively.
It is worth noting that Nyaga, who garnered 7,614 votes, whitewashed Albert Muchira Kigoro, who vied on Democratic Party of Kenya owned by Justin Muturi.
The fourfold wins, political pundits deduce, is a statement victory for President Ruto as the 2027 General Election draws near.
"Congratulations to UDA for sweeping all the seats in today’s by-elections, a strong affirmation of the people’s confidence in UDA’s leadership and development agenda," said Anne Waiguru.
