The Siaya Resident Magistrate’s Court has ordered blogger Michael Oduor, also known as Mike Ochieng, to pay KSh 3 million in general damages for defamation against Siaya County Public Service Board CEO Wilfred Nyagudi.

Resident Magistrate Jacob Mkala found Ochieng guilty of defaming Nyagudi through a series of posts on social media platforms, including Facebook and WhatsApp.

The court imposed KSh 3 million in general damages and an additional KSh 300,000 in exemplary damages.

Mkala further ordered Ochieng to immediately remove all defamatory content, including memes, images, and statements, from his social media accounts.

The court also instructed the blogger to issue an unequivocal apology to Nyagudi using the same platforms where the defamatory remarks were published.
