Together with the change of leadership, the agency has also initiated a massive recruitment exercise, focusing on filling over 500 jobs both at its national and county levels.

The vacancies span across a range of jobs from senior management to junior levels, a clear indication of SHA’s growth and building institutions program.

On Thursday, the agency also announced a list of shortlisted candidates for various vacancies assistant directors of legal services, human resources, internal audit, registration, and compliance.

The list included each candidate’s ethnic group and interview dates, a step taken to double down on transparency and diversity in public service hiring.

As Kenya’s healthcare system develops into a more universal and centralized model under SHA, the recent appointments bear witness to an overwhelming desire: build a team that is capable of providing quality, accessible, and effective healthcare services for all Kenyans.
