Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has set record on reports that her household items in Runda were about to be auctioned for rent arrears accumulating to Kshs 1,25 million.
During an interview on Tuesday morning with K24 station, Karen stated that she’s fine and not as broke as people claimed.
She stated that some people had contributed money for her and clarified that she isn’t in need of financial help.
The mother of three stipulated, “Yesterday I got people wanting to raise money for me. They think I am broke. I am not broke but thanks for your concern. I actually got some contributions on my phone. I am very thankful but I am fine. I don’t need it right now. When I need it, I will definitely be giving you a pay bill number,”
On her X page, Karen said that soon she’ll share her side of the story and will also proceed to court since the auctioneers were at fault. Karen stated,
“Do you know why I’m laughing? There’s a colleague who has asked me with concern whether I’m into casino gambling, wondering where my money is going. Be patient, I’ll share [my part of the] story,”
A court order issued by Milimani Senior Magistrate A.H. Nyoike that dates November 13, 2024 states that Karen Nyamu risked losing her household items due to the outstanding debts.
The court ordered Runda Police Station OCS to provide security for Fantasy Auctioneers who were on the verge of recovering the household items for Karen’s landlord.
