After 13 hours of Jury deliberations, a panel of twelve jurors have acquitted Sean Combs of racketeering and sex trafficking charges. Sean combs was however convicted of transporting people to participate in prostitution activities. Diddy knelt by his chair and was seen praying after hearing the final decision.
Prosecutors alleged that Diddy Combs exploited his celebrity empire to run a criminal enterprise to sex traffic women.Testimony from over 30 witnesses, including singer and former girlfriend Casandra Ventura, painted a grim picture of coercion and manipulation.
Heavily pregnant Ventura testified that diddy Combs manipulated her to having sex acts and further threatened to leak the sex footage. Evidence depicting a hotel footage from 2016 depicted Combs beating Ventura. The security staff alleged that Diddy attempted to have it deleted.
While the jury found him guilty of transporting for prostitution, they remained divided over the racketeering charge, citing unmovable opinions on both sides. Combs’ legal team admitted to violent behaviour influenced by drugs and jealousy but insisted there was no coordinated criminal conspiracy. The defence further argued that the involvement of staff could not amount to racketeering unless they were knowingly complicit.
Combs, who built a multimillion-dollar empire through Bad Boy Records, fashion, alcohol, and media ventures, still faces dozens of civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault. While he avoided life imprisonment on the more severe charges, the legal battles and public scrutiny surrounding him are far from over.
