Musician Samidoh.

Renowned Mugithi singer cum police officer Samuel Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, is reportedly facing disciplinary action from his bosses, the National Police Service.

This is after the singer led revelers during a concert in chanting ‘wantam’, a direct mockery of President William Ruto’s leadership and opposition to his re-election in 2027.

Samidoh is accused of violating the Service Standing Orders (SSO), which prohibits police officers from engaging in political activities. The officers are required to remain apolitical and loyal to the government of the day.

Among the disciplinary measures, it is reported that the singer will be transferred from the Central Region Police Headquarters to the Administration Police’s Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) in Gilgil pending investigations.

If found guilty of violating the SSO, Samidoh faces dismissal, demotion, fines, or warnings.
