Kenya’s Sabastian Sawe stormed to victory at the Berlin Marathon on Sunday, delivering a dominant performance to win the 42km race in a time of 2:02:15.
The reigning world half marathon champion finished just over two minutes short of the world record of 2:00:35, set by fellow Kenyan Kelvin Kiptum at the 2023 Chicago Marathon.
Sawe’s impressive run reaffirmed his place among the world’s elite long-distance runners, as he crossed the finish line well ahead of the competition.
