President William Ruto is expect to tout Taita Taveta County to officiate the launch of Taveta-Njukini-Illasit road on Friday next week.

The highly anticipated event marks a significant step in the development and connectivity of the region.

According Taveta MP John Bwire on his social media pages, president Ruto’s visit will significantly benefit the region.

“February 28, 2025, in the Year of Our Lord, will be remembered in the history of Taveta as the date when the Taveta-Njukini-Illasit road was officially launched by the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya, Dr. William Samoei Ruto,” he posted.

He added that the new road will be a game-changer for the people of Taveta noting it will ease transport, promote tourism, and boost agriculture by providing better market access.

The news of Ruto’s visit in the region was also shared on the Jamvi la Taveta WhatsApp Group by Jacob Nthiani, a local resident.

Ruto’s visit to Taveta follows his recent visit to Mombasa County in a development tour.

Recently he appointed former Mombasa governor Hassan Joho as the minister for mining.
