President William Ruto has condoled with Senate Speaker Amason Kingi following the passing of his father, Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa.

In a statement, President Ruto described Mzee Mwaruwa as a respected, progressive, and hardworking individual whose legacy will be remembered.

“Our condolences to the Speaker of the Senate for the loss of his dear father, Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa. He was respected, progressive, and hardworking,” Ruto stated.

The Head of State assured Kingi, his family, and the people of Kilifi of his prayers and support during this difficult period.

“Mheshimiwa Amason Kingi, the family, and the people of Kilifi are in our prayers during this difficult time. Rest in peace,” he added.

Senate Speaker Kingi, in an emotional tribute, mourned his father, recalling the sacrifices he made to shape his life.

“Dad, our Patriarch Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa has rested. I’m completely broken, Dad, especially when I remember the painful journey and struggles that you went through to make me who I am today,” Kingi stated.

Kingi recounted his father’s health struggles but also reflected on a special moment they shared during the 2024 December holidays.
