President William Ruto has emphasized Kenya and Ethiopia’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation while advancing regional peace and security in the Horn of Africa.
Speaking after a visit to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, President Ruto said discussions with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali were “fruitful” and focused on promoting stability, dialogue, and African-led solutions to regional challenges.
“Together, we reaffirm our shared commitment to stability, dialogue, and African-led solutions, anchored in a common vision for stronger economic integration, digital growth, and shared prosperity,” President Ruto said.
The two leaders also explored opportunities to strengthen economic ties, particularly in the digital and telecommunications sectors. Both governments agreed to support Ethiotel and Safaricom as they pursue strategic joint investment opportunities across regional markets, with full government backing from Kenya and Ethiopia.
President Ruto highlighted the importance of regional partnerships in fostering economic growth, technological innovation, and integration across East Africa.
“Our discussions focused on building stronger links between our countries to enhance trade, investment, and connectivity, benefiting citizens on both sides,” he noted.
