President William Ruto marked a significant milestone in Kirinyaga County as he launched the Last Mile Electricity Connectivity project in Kang’aru, set to benefit 5,795 homes.
Among the first beneficiaries of this initiative is the family of 67-year-old Mama Caroline Wanjira from Joyland village in Kagio, Ndia Constituency.
Mama Wanjira, a grandmother of two, will now have access to reliable electricity, enabling her to better support her household and run her small business with greater ease.

The President highlighted the importance of this connection, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on the lives of rural families.
“We are glad to connect the family of 67-year-old Mama Caroline Wanjira of Joyland village in Kagio, Ndia Constituency, to reliable power. The grandmother of two will now support her household and run her business with minimal difficulty, he said.

He noted that the launched the Last Mile Electricity Connectivity in Kang’aru targets 5,795 homes in Kirinyaga County.

Earlier in the day, President Ruto addressed residents and traders in Sagana Town, urging them to support the recently-formed broad-based government.
He called for unity and cooperation, emphasizing the importance of rallying behind the government’s development agenda to improve the lives of all Kenyans.

The Last Mile Electricity Connectivity project is part of a broader initiative by the government to enhance access to electricity in rural areas, promoting economic growth and improving living standards across the country.
