President William Ruto has reiterated the importance of housing as a central pillar of the Kenya Kwanza manifesto, emphasizing its potential to create jobs, eliminate slums, and safeguard agricultural land from excessive sub-division that could lead to food insecurity.
In preparation for Mashujaa Day on October 20, which will focus on the theme of housing, President Ruto held a meeting at State House, Nairobi, with key stakeholders, including architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, bankers, manufacturers, industrialists, and Jua Kali representatives.
“The housing agenda remains a priority for our administration as it holds the promise of long-term development and growth for Kenya,” President Ruto said.
He emphasized the significance of the sector in contributing to the nation’s economic stability and prosperity, noting that collaboration with industry leaders is crucial to advancing this initiative.
The Mashujaa Day celebrations will highlight the government’s commitment to affordable housing as part of its broader development agenda, which aims to improve living conditions, generate employment, and ensure sustainable land use across the country.
