President William Ruto has called on Kenyans living and working in Scandinavia to invest in the country and support government initiatives aimed at creating jobs, expanding opportunities, and accelerating economic transformation.

Speaking during a town hall meeting with Kenyans in Helsinki, Finland, President Ruto said the Kenyan workforce remains one of the country’s greatest assets, citing its education, talent and global competitiveness.

He pointed out that the government will strive to create more local and international job opportunities through providing reliable access to quality employment opportunities overseas for Kenyan professionals and technical workers.

“The Kenyan workforce is one of our greatest assets – educated, talented and globally competitive.”he said

President said international jobs are providing Kenyans with more money, new skills and more foreign exchange earnings for the economy.

“We are also facilitating access to quality jobs abroad, enabling our professionals and technical staff to grow their incomes, acquire valuable skills and increase remittances that strengthen our economy.”

The Head of State asked the Diaspora community to make investments back to Kenya.
“I encouraged them to invest in Kenya and support the transformative programmes the Government is implementing to create jobs, expand opportunities and accelerate national transformation.” he added

This interaction with Kenyans in Scandinavia is one among many exercises in consolidating relations between the government and Diaspora in the development of the nation.
