“I take this opportunity to commend the strong vision and effective leadership through which His Excellency President
Xi Jinping has made unique contributions to the strengthening of the cooperation between Africa and China, particularly through the Belt and Road Initiative and the Four Global Initiatives, which encompass a broad range of transformative undertakings in development, security and cultural understanding,” President Ruto said.
Ruto also expressed concerns about the high number of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in Africa, emphasizing the urgency for transformative programs that would help African nations achieve economic growth and stability.
He noted that initiatives like the BRI provide a robust framework for African countries to leverage investments in infrastructure, trade, and technology to uplift their economies.
“we are profoundly concerned that many of the Least Developed Countries are in Africa, and are seized with
a strong sense of urgency in establishing a robust foundation for our nations and peoples to achieve a radical turnaround through transformative programmes,” he added.
The high-level meeting is expected to strengthen the bond between Africa and China, positioning the Belt and Road Initiative as a catalyst for modernization and economic integration in Africa.
