Health Cabinet Secretary Adan Duale has been defended by William Ruto”s Ukambani allies, who disbelieved the corruption accusations against him, saying that the charges are part of a political conspiracy against the reformers of the health sector.
The leaders, who took part in a Bodaboda Empowerment Program in Matia, Kitui County, assured the CS that they would not let him be hanged by his rivals and at the same time they applauded his determination in the fight against corruption in the Social Health Authority.
UDA Organizing Secretary Vincent Musyoka threw down the gauntlet to the opposition, daring them to go ahead with the threat of impeachment. In response, Musyoka said, “Those pushing this narrative are simply cartels fighting back because their fraudulent dealings are being exposed.” The leaders lauded CS Duale and the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for taking firm action against hospitals implicated in fraudulent activities, saying the crackdown is a clear demonstration of the government’s determination to protect public resources allocated to health care.
According to Mbai, the bodaboda sector, once empowered, will play a substantial role in nation building. The same event invited Kitui South MP, Rachel Kaki, to support the government’s program.
She was of the opinion that the initiative would turn riders into a reliable youth employment vehicle in the country. The legislators interpreted President William Ruto’s decision to free all impounded bodabodas that had been confiscated over minor offenses as a move to ease the burden of families that rely on the business. “This is a listening government that understands the struggles of ordinary Kenyans,” Kaki said.
The leaders also warned that the government will be committed to continuously launching programs that are designed to empower citizens and at the same time, wipe out the deep-seated corruption cartels that have for long been stealing from the public coffer
