Former Migori Governor Okoth Obado will know his fate regarding the murder case of his girlfriend Sharon Otieno on January 30, 2025.
Obado is the prime suspect in the murder of pregnant Sharon on September 3, 2018 in Homa Bay.
He is suspected of having orchestrated the murder of the then-Rongo University student together with his PA Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero.
On this date, the court will rule whether Obado, Oyamo and Obiero have a case to answer. This follows the conclusion of submissions by both parties.
On Friday, Obado maintained innocence, saying that the prosecution failed to present a strong case against him.
Through his lawyers Kioko Kilukumi and Rodger Sagana, Obado submitted that he had an open relationship with Sharon and was willing to support her and their unborn child.
Kilukumi said there is no iota of evidence linking his client with the death of Sharon.
