Residents of Navakholo, Kakamega County,
have petitioned the national government to expedite the Lurambi, Musika, Bungoma road completion. They argue that the road project is a big focus in the realization of improved transportation and increased economic activities in the area.
In the presence of Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe, the community members narrated that the road had been ignored for a long time by the previous administrations hence it became very difficult for vehicles, traders, and farmers who use the road regularly to get to the markets and other necessities.
They commended the Kenya Kwanza administration for resuming the long, stalled road project, and their expression of hope that after the completion, more parts of the country would be connected and hence, there will be more development.
Wangwe mentioned that the road is a major link road between the two counties of Kakamega and Bungoma and just like the other major road, it helps the trade sector by facilitating the easy movement of products and people, besides it is one of the major ways of improving the levels of education and health by making schools and hospitals more accessible.
The people said the road after completion would not only lead to shortening the travelling time and lowering the transport cost but few persons will also be injured in road accidents if the road is done as most accidents happen due to bad roads.
