Phillip Muriuki Ngari, father to Public Health and Professional Standards Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni, has passed away.
The news of his death was announced by PS Muthoni on Thursday through her official social media accounts.
In her heartfelt message, Muthoni shared that her father had been battling an illness for several months, with much of that time spent in the hospital. In his final days, he was brought home where he was on oxygen support.
Reflecting on her last moments with him, Muthoni expressed the deep sadness of not knowing that their time together the previous day would be their last.
“Yesterday evening I spent some time with him, unaware that it would be my last occasion seeing him alive. May you rest in peace papa,” she wrote.
Though Muthoni did not disclose the specifics of her father’s illness, she expressed gratitude for the time spent with him in his final moments.
Leaders across the country, including Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, have conveyed their condolences to Muthoni and her family as they mourn the loss of their father.
