Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Dr. Ouma Oluga, on Thursday presented the 2025/2026 budget estimates for the State Department for Medical Services before the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Health, led by Seme MP Dr. James.
Dr. Oluga outlined the department’s strategic priorities, with a strong focus on advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC), integrating health systems, digitizing health records, and reforming the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) to streamline the distribution of health commodities.
He emphasized that adequate funding is crucial for strengthening Kenya’s healthcare infrastructure and urged the committee to support the allocations to help realize the Ministry’s vision of quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare for all.
The PS was accompanied by Director General for Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth, CEOs of various Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies (SAGAs) under the Ministry, and other senior officials.
