President William Ruto has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transforming Kenya’s economy through deliberate investment in human capital, with a strong focus on empowering young people.

Speaking during the launch of the fifth disbursement of the Nyota business start-up capital, the President said the administration is prioritising talented, energetic, innovative, and skilled youth as key drivers of the country’s journey towards a first-world economy.

Under the latest disbursement, Sh103.9 million has been released to 4,159 young entrepreneurs drawn from Samburu, Isiolo, Laikipia, and Marsabit counties. The funds are aimed at supporting start-ups and expanding youth-led enterprises, particularly in underserved regions.

President Ruto noted that empowering young people with capital and skills is central to the government’s economic transformation agenda, adding that youth innovation and entrepreneurship will play a critical role in job creation and sustainable development.
