President William Ruto on Friday convened a high level thought leadership presentation at State House, Nairobi. Focus of the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) in achieving Kenyas Vision 2030 and its role in fast tracking development delivery within the next five years.
The presentation discussed how the implementation of contribution in line with the three pillars of revolution, namely the economic, social, and political transformation.
Through the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Programme, increased socio, economic opportunities for the common citizen will be realised, thus deeply impacting the local economy through inclusive development and hence rapidly actualising the objectives of Kenya Government’s Kenya Vision 2030 by 2022.
The mission comprised Kisumu County Governor Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o as the team leader and eminent academicians, and policy experts, including Prof Karuti Kanyinga, Prof Oduor Wanyande, Prof Michael Chege, Mr Denis Onyango and Mr George Omondi. The Presidents Council of Economic Advisors members were also present during the meeting.
There were discussions about policy coherence, economic inclusion, and the strategic reforms needed to maintain growth, raise competitiveness, and ensure development gains continuity beyond the Vision 2030 timeline.
State House stated that the team will further closely collaborating with the President and his economic advisors to formulate a clear and coherent development vision for the country in the long term, which is evidence, based policy and inclusive economic growth.
This engagement takes place as Kenya is gearing up for the post-2030 development era, placing a heavy emphasis on structural reforms that will pave the way for the country to achieve its first, world economic status goal.
